A special thank-you to the Event Presenters:

  • Gregor Jurak (FitBack), Webinar Chair, outlined the scope and history of the FitBack network, including introducing the free online web portal
  • Mark Tremblay (AHKGA, President), Webinar Chair, outlined the aims, history and most recent findings of AHKGA and the Global Matrix
  • Salomé Aubert (AHKGA, Vice-President), Invited Speaker, described recent findings of the Global Matrix 4.0 specific to the Fitness Indicator
  • Francisco B. Ortega (FitBack), Invited Speaker, shared his wealth of information regarding childhood fitness-health links and suggestions for best-practice and evidence-based fitness tests for children and adolescents, especially in school settings

The diverse attendees represented many global regions (e.g., North America, Europe and Asia) and participated in active discussions on some of the methodological problems present when conducting children and adolescent fitness assessments from their areas. Difficulties with grading the fitness indicator were discussed, and many solutions were brainstormed, including how FitBack's free, online portal might help address these measurement gaps.
