On September 5th, 2024, the 2nd annual Global Youth Fitness Forum was held online. The aim of the meeting was to gather a group of international experts interested in child and youth fitness surveillance and monitoring.
The Forum also aimed to discuss projects related to a 2023 study that identified the top 10 international priorities for fitness research and surveillance among children and youth (10.1007/s40279-022-01752-6). The 2nd iteration of the Forum included a diverse group of 11 presentations – see details below. More than 100 experts attended the meeting from over 70 institutions/universities across 50+ countries and territories. We hope that this Forum helps produce international collaborative projects with common goals, develops skills and knowledge, and generates momentum for the importance of physical fitness among children and youth.
The 3rd annual Global Youth Fitness Forum will take place September 4th, 2025. If you are interested in joining or presenting your work, please contact Justin Lang (justin.lang@phac-aspc.gc.ca).
